EDTA Tetra Sodium liquid is a chelating agent or sequestering agent. It is a solution of tetra hydrate salt of EDTA, available as clear, transparent colourless to pale yellow liquid, depending on their chelating power. It is a reaction product of EDTA acid with sodium hydroxide solution at higher temperature.

Handling

It is highly alkaline (pH 10-12), so handle with care to prevent any leakage / spillage from carboy or drum. EDTA Tetra Sodium liquid causes serious irritant to eyes and skin. While handling this product, please wear goggles, gloves and safety shoes. Handle with care, no hooks allowed. In case of large spillage wash it with plenty of water. In case of injury to skin, wash it with water and then wash thoroughly with neutral soap and water. Regardless of the seriousness of the case, medical attention should be sought.

Storage

EDTA Tetra Sodium liquid is stored in a cool dry place. Ensure proper ventilation in storage area. Keep them away from heat sources, direct sun light and moisture. It is stored in container made of, or lined with polyethylene, polypropylene or high density polyethylene. EDTA Tetra Sodium liquid should be stored at ambient temperature between 20°C to 48°C to avoid crystallisation in cold season.

Packing

EDTA Tetra Sodium  liquid is available in 40 Kgs HDPE carboy or 250 Kgs HDPE drum, tanker load or as per customer's requirement.

Applications

EDTA liquid use in textile industries, it is used in scouring and bleaching, where hardness of water which otherwise lead to patchy results, and it improves the whiteness of full bleached fabrics, when incorporated in peroxide bath. It eliminates tiny holes on fabric due to iron particles. It improver the colour yield when dyeing with chrome, vat, reactive and disperse dyestuff. It is necessary to remove certain metals namely, iron, copper, manganese, aluminium, tin, zinc etc., whenever hard water is likely to affect. We recommend as under.

A very large quantity of EDTA liquid is used in Rayon industries, as it prevents the precipitation of lead sulphate and removes the metallic impurities.
